Ice Bucket Challenge
I'm still failing to see what the point of all this is? Apparently for charity yet most don't even plug whatever charity its supposed to be for.

All it seems to be is 'my celeb mates are better than yours'.

Who's done one?

Ricky Gervais TWITTER status read: "Dear celebrities, OK, now that's enough. Please stop pouring lovely fresh water over your heads" - Africa

Why is throwing ice over you going to cure a disease?

Re: Ice Bucket Challenge
Apparently Charlie Sheen caused outrage because he did it with ten grand instead of water and then called out a load of celebs to match it.

Beckham has done it.

You'd have to be a bit of an idiot to have a problem with this.

Henry,
You have massively missed the point

Raises awareness for ALS which is Motor Neurone Disease, not sure how much it has raised but I would hazard a guess that it is plenty.

Like the Naked Selfie thing, most won't donate, but those that do, raise a lot of money.

I imagine it is to get their names in the paper

Re: Ice Bucket Challenge
The charity only raised £1m last year so it's been worth it.

I haven't really seen the explosion of these videos as I stay away from Facebook and Twitter. But I can imagine the endless amounts of videos being very tedious to watch.

Re: Ice Bucket Challenge
The trouble is i think that unless you actually click links on the videos you wont know why its being done, for weeks now i've seen Ronaldo, the Ravens etc doing it but never any explanation why so it just seemed like a fad i honestly have never seen anything about it being for charity.

I mean for fucks sake if £1 was donated to any charity for every selfie these celebrities do wed have world peace by now but none of that is charity and those are running side by side this ice bucket thing all the time.

Re: Ice Bucket Challenge
As with most charity events...if you make the fund raising event an opportunity to make it mostly about themselves and not the actual cause, it'll usually work and raise money. People are self centred attention seekers.

The cause is for Lou Gehrig’s disease, which the vast majority of the world and Facebook, never cared about right up until the opportunity arises to film themselves pouring a bucket of water on themselves and tag some friends.

What's even sadder about this desperate attention seeking craze, is that the original idea was that you donate, OR if you choose not to, and have the bucket poured over your head as a forfeit.

People are that excited about getting involved and making it about themselves they've completely missed what the rules are, and now have changed the rules.

I'm glad they're getting money, but just shows what a bunch of needy self centred attention seeking cunts are willing to humiliate themselves for a laugh.

Things like this will always get stolen by the masses, and milked dry.

The initial impact it has had makes it worthwhile.

That ice bucket thing was done years ago I think by the Dallas Cowboys when they won the Superbowl - the manager at the time got done towards the end of the game

Re: Ice Bucket Challenge
Might not have been the Dallas Cowboys but was definitely done fuckin years ago - or as Sold would say:
